What makes it iconic

  • Retractable roof — almost always closed during day games due to Miami heat and afternoon thunderstorms.
  • Built on the site of the demolished Orange Bowl, where the Marlins' predecessors (and the Dolphins, Hurricanes, and many Super Bowls) once played.
  • The Bobblehead Museum behind home plate — a glass case of bobblehead figures perpetually nodding from speaker vibrations.
  • Originally Marlins Park; renamed loanDepot park (lowercase) in 2021. The 'Homer' sculpture in center field was removed in 2019.

Notable moments

  • Hosting the 2017 All-Star Game.
  • José Fernández's tragic death in September 2016 and the emotional first home game after his loss — Dee Gordon's leadoff homer.
  • The 2024 NL Wild Card series win over Philadelphia — the Marlins' first October series victory since 2003.
  • The 'Homer' sculpture — a controversial center-field statue that erupted in fish, color, and chaos after every Marlins home run, until its 2019 removal.
